Hah! Well, I wish I could say it was a typo, however I had it in my head that it was 'china' not 'cherry', so there you go. This is what happens when you are consistently sleep deprived I guess. Thanks for the catch on that.

As for the invasive aspect, I read about that too, and it seems that a couple of cultivars are invasive in places like Florida, however here in MA the growing conditions aren't nearly as favorable, and winters are long and cold, so the likelihood of rapid spread seems very low. That said, i'm reading more on this and may reconsider my decision to buy one if it is a risk to become invasive.

Chris, I'll ask John about his and see what he thinks about how quickly they invade. I would avoid invasive plants or grow them in pots as they can be very harsh toward other plants.

For instance I had a climbing vine strangling one of my maple trees, not from climbing but by sending out very very long roots which were working their way into the roots of my maple.

I have a small garden and so I'm always concerned about that sort of thing.
