I have an use a Gyokucho 372 (combo tooth) and use it mainly for white oak, ash and harder woods with success, so I share your sentiment but frankly working brutally hard woods is something I avoid so most of my tooling is not optimized for it.

Nakaya Eaks saws are a dream to use in softwoods, such as yellow cedar, especially so for small work like kumiko.
