G'Day Brian,
I will second other's sentiments here - beautifully executed joinery and I likewise am a little jealous of your workspace.

Is that the Lie Nielson tenon saws you have there? I have two also, one in rip one in crosscut. And where did the wooden head mallet come from?

Regards

Derek

Thanks Derek!

Those are Lie Nielsen tenon saws it's the large thin plate tenon, crosscut carcass and dovetail. I've been contemplating something smaller for starting tenons, the large tenon saw is a bit much to keep on track, but the dovetail is a too fine for really moving through tenons quickly.

The mallet is by Blue Spruce. It's served me well and one face is leather, which is great for knocking together assemblies.

Sorry for the terrible photos, was in a rush this morning.

Almost complete! Just need to work the top a little more and clean up the cuts on the ends.

Leaving it unfinished.

My wife likes it, she stole it away to use as a coffee table, but I stole it back.

Great progress pics/journal Brian and it looks like a very functional piece of shop furniture, and a very pleasing aesthetic to boot.

I think that the first time you nick that awesome bench with a saw we will all hear you cry!!! And we will all feel your pain. It looks really great.

Lol! Thanks Paul!

My wife loves this bench, tonight we're using it to dine infront of the TV.

Well done Brian! That came out really nice, sounds like you may not get it back to the shed.

Thanks Derek! I had to trade the promise of a future coffee table to regain my sawbench. I'm surprised by how high the value of coffee table futures are in my relationship.
