octagons are fun. hand planing elm is not. rolls an edge right over. 16" oliver table saw is fun.

Nice size shop you have there, and thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like you enjoy your jig making!

And is that a double hollow plane iron?! What's up with that?

Thanks Brian and Chris. They are massive tables, hence the big shop. I didn't make any money on them, but they got me a shop. My itinerant carpentry days may be over.

Chris, that is the chipbreaker that you are seeing with a double grind. I acquired that plane at a discount from Suzuki-San. It was used as a demo in a class for setting up planes, taught by M. Laine. I guess the chip breaker pin was located poorly and he chose to grind the chip breaker. It seats under the pin very nicely now. Unconventional, but effective.
