I hope your new blog proves to be a worthwhile and rewarding endeavor. The main thing seems to be consistency. 80% of the blogs out there never get past an entry or two, so you're already ahead.

I hope so as well, so far it's been quite enjoyable to put together. I think it will also be interesting as a point of reference after a few years and hopefully will spark some interest in others. I log a lot of work on sawmill creek, but it gets fairly difficult to track down after some time.

I found your blog some years ago, and safe to say it's had a substantial and very positive impact on my life. So I think this format is very beneficial for the author as well as the reader.

Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Part II on the doors is now ready for general consumption. I hope you will check it out and comment as I am fleshing out my door idea a bit in this post.

Good post, amd I wish the pictures were bigger or could be clicked on to expand.

One nitpick is the term "sokosari nomi", which should be sokozarai nomi.

Thanks Chris, made some changes. Oddly enough if I upload directly from my phone to their servers then it saves the picture very small, but if I host outside then they come up something closer to full size.

I plan to play around with this and hopefully get it so that they can be clicked on and enlarged to full size.

I added the name Mukoumachi-nomi for the mortise chisels as well, trying to use the correct Japanese word for each tool as often as possible. I believe that is accurate for mortise chisels?
