Excellent work Brian. Thoroughly enjoying the progress. Having made boxes before, but never a humidor, this is a great insight.

How was the process of cutting the mitres using a shoulder plane and a 45 jig, any difficulties?

The shoulder plane and makeshift fence was not terrible but far from ideal. I plan to acquire and setup a pair of kiwa ganna for the job since I plan to use it on casework.

I love it. I love cigars and am still using a humidor i made about 15yrs ago. Although i know Spanish Cedar (some sort of mahogany) is supposed to be best and i like mine, i think walnut in addition to spanish cedar would be nice. Love the process.

Thanks Paul! I'm sure your humidor is gorgeous as well. I debated it a bit and decided on just liners, which worked well for me in the past mixing a maple exterior box with Spanish cedar liners. Though, I'm thinking on future humidors (no chance that this is the last one hehe) I might make them entirely of Spanish cedar or Honduran mahogany or okoume.

I'd love to see what yoh made if you don't mind posting up pictures.

The continuation of my humidor build is now ready. In this post I am completing the interior woodwork which includes the tray that divides the bottom into two sections. Hope you will read and comment.

That looks very nice. I will send you a photo of mine but it is nowhere near what you've done! I am currently working on a job where the builder gives me a Punch whenever i want one (i like them while sitting and drinking a good beer - not while working)

Great work Brian. I particularly liked the lattice work. I'm sure you cheat in these shots to make your work look even better by cleaning after every drop of sawdust!
