Haha, me too. It's a counter top for a kitchen and I hope the end users find it acceptable. Imagine having your work rejectected due to them seeing a chicken in the wood!

Isn't this "Year of the Rooster"?
Did you have any trouble with tear-out where the grain reverses? Its a beautiful figure anyway.

I checked the Chinese zodiac and your right, haha that's pretty funny. Had all sorts of trouble with the grain change for sure. Moreover I was attempting to plane it all with my kanna but that was beyond my skill set and ended up sanding it all. Lots of skill improvement to work on for the new year!
