Nice find! I hadn't come across that before.

From what I can see, it looks very much like an adaptation of the Ōtemon splice.

When I get some time I'll try drawing it.

The assembly direction is not obvious, and the joint may be past the line where complexity of cut out is sufficiently tough to make it altogether impractical.
