Hip to be Hip

Fri Jan 31, 2014 3:52 pm

Just a look down the road a ways. We're within a mailing or two of completing the material for hip corner 1, which is also roof model #2 we've tackled, following on from the askew common rafter problem.

The next two projects are going to be:

Hip roof model #2 (roof model #3), where we explore some alternate joinery arrangements, an alternate hip nose treatment, and introduce hiyodori sen.

Then:

Valley Roof Model #1 (roof model #4). This won't be a huge amount of new material relative to the preceding two projects, but it is useful to know how to deal with valleys.

If/when we get through those two models, the next step in the process will be to start looking at polygonal arrangements, starting with the hopper, then the stool and then a roof model.

Though you might like to have an idea about the progression here....

Yes very interested in the progression. It's good to look up sometimes and see where the path is going.

There's certainly no lack of avenues to explore!
