Developed drawings

I was studying an article on the Japanese layout method called sumitsuke which seems to mean "ink placing" or simply " inking". Furthermore, this method was also called "centerline and square rule". I wasn't aware that the Japanese had a square rule method, yet i suppose it is implied due to the snapping of vertical and horizontal lines. I am wondering how this method deals with that slightly out of square piece in the layout method. Do the daikusan square the member at the notch and perform a system of mapping timbers?

Before I answer, might you say which article you have been reading, and who wrote it? is it out of an old TF Journal?

Yes, that article came out in an early TF Journal, in three parts. They simply re-published it in a later book.

I'll re-read it and get back to you.
