Light Timber Frame Bunkhouse
A light timber frame building we put together a couple of years ago. Measures 12' x 16', just under the 200 sq ft requirement for a building permit. Made of 4 x 4 with board and batten siding... The building is now used as a bunkhouse.

Re: Light Timber Frame Bunkhouse
Like the long wind braces - a borrowing from German design a bit, perhaps? Just a guess.
Light timber framing is an excellent way to go I think. Timbers which can be properly dried and are easier to handle - such a bonus.

Chris you are right, I worked in a Swiss carpenter shop for a year back in 1980, this was how the braces were done.
