What is the construction method of the inside solid core? I noticed holes drilled in the side, are these to do with the fastening of the core? How was the radius determined? Did the stairs have to fit into a given space or was it the builders choice? At any rate, an attractive stair case. I guess the rail comes next?

The inside solid core is made of three pieces, grain level and 1 rise high, you find the face mould on the plan view as can be seen on one of the pictures ( tread n: 2,3,4), and assembled together. The cut of the underside of the stringer is made, once assembled, on the band saw, convex side on the table (free hand). The holes in the stringer are for the balusters (more pictures to come). All the center points are determined on the plan view, true size, as can be seen, badly on one of the pictures. As this is a movie set, I work with blue prints from the art director office. After studying the project, you can discuss some minor or major modifications, the problem being that not many art director know much about staircase making! If I can find them, I'll post the blue print I was given.

800~1000 pixels wide is best for ease of viewing

Thanks for that Chris, my brain kept telling me that very thing but i didn't know if it was correct. I'm sure your work will be just as interesting Francois at the new pixel setting.

It just saves having to scroll to the left to see the whole picture (and that, in my case, is with a 19" monitor). Make them too small, and detail is lost.

Thank you, I hope I can win the battle of the pixel!
Is it possible to erase the too big pictures and post them back with the right size?
