hammer and nail cabinet

Mon Dec 01, 2014 6:07 pm

Here is a humble medicine cabinet built out of fir and birch plywood. The door and face frame are mortise and tenoned, cut with hand tools. This chest was inspired after looking around the Home Depot for a medicine chest... Nothing especially artistic or crafty here, but this chest it has that nice click when you shut the door and it holds tooth paste. I am from the hammer and nail tradition of carpentry.

Very nice looking and I also like the way that you have the horizontal rail at the top on the side but not one at the bottom, makes for some sleek. A small feature that shows individuality and something other than mass production. The small cabinet must set the mood in that room.

I also like the cabinet, it looks really well done. Sure beats the heck out of the wal-mart special we have, courtesy of our landlord :)
