I wish I could understand the speaker but watching this guy work was inspiring. I especially like the versatility of his 'planning board'(?). The ease at which he is able to surface plane, joint and shoot the end grain with just a few quick changes is beautiful. It really illustrates how a simple jig can be so effective.

Very elegant work.
I think it's interesting that he is using what appears to be a mortise chisel for the dovetail roughing.
This is likely softwood based on his karate chopping the rough wood and breaking it off on his mark.
